SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER!
Thank you to all the parents who connected to class dojo. Please do not disconnect as your new teacher will be in contact in September.
Summer Holiday Resources
We will be leaving a selection resources on this page for you to look at over the summer holidays - none of it is compulsory but it may help keep your child busy over the next 6 weeks. See the 'Other Curriculum Resources' section at the bottom of the page for these.
We would like to say a HUGE thank you to all pupils and parents in year 4 who have worked so hard at home over the last few months. These have been extremely unusual times that no-one could have been prepared for and we appreciate everything you have been doing at home! Well done done everyone!
We wish you all a happy and healthy summer holiday. See you in September!
Mrs Ward, Miss Thompson and Mrs McCreath.
Daily Home Learning
13th July - 17th July 2020
Use maths to figure out the clues to help you eliminate suspects! (e.g. if a clue tells you the suspect is male, you can cross off all the female suspects - a bit like guess who!)
A bit of fun for your last week! There are 3 to choose from - you can do one or all of them if you want. If you figure out the suspect send your answers to me on dojo!

Other Curriculum Resources
Holy Family have managed to acquire free access to a fantastic online learning platform for science units for Y1-Y6. There are easy to follow presentations, photos, videos, quizzes, word-searches and explanations from leading scientists. We will be using this website for our science topics which we think will be really beneficial! Please click the image below to watch an explanation video from Mr Richardson.
Please click on the link above to take you to the year 4 'Developing Experts' science page, after you have watched the explanation video as this will explain how your child can log in. They will need their mathletics password.
Please use dojo to message your class teacher if you have any problems accessing this site.
Click on the image to access BBC Bitesize for year 4. It is a brilliant website for self-directed learning. There is a huge number of lessons dating all the way back to 20th April, covering every and all subjects, and each one of them is fun, easy to learn from and 'Bitesized' (meaning they are not too long and boring). They are full of lots of videos, animations, pictures and are presented by well-known faces like Sam & Mark. There are extracts from books read by celebrities, there are even lessons from famous experts like geography lessons from Sir David Attenborough. Check out whats on offer and see how much you can learn. If you want to turn them into proper lessons, just make brief notes on the things you learn like the new vocabulary you experience, the facts and the new understanding you have. Let your teacher and your friends know which lessons you enjoyed.
As always, there will be activities on mathletics for your child to complete. They can use multiverse to help improve their times tables as well as other websites such as:
FREE online reading books from Oxford Owl.

World Religions Week - Judaism
We had a very busy week during World Religions Week learning about Judaism. We learnt lots of interesting facts about synagogues, the Seder plate and the prophet Moses. We learnt that Jews follow The Ten Commandments just like Christians do and we thought about how God might have delivered the commandments on a 'tablet' today!
